Lyngdorf teases ‘Goldilocks’ TDAI-2210

  • True Digital Amplifier Integrated (TDAI) — that’s Lyngdorf speak for a digital (integrated) amplifier where the audio signal travels through the amplifier’s internals entirely in the digital domain and is only converted to PWM to switch the output stage at the last possible moment. No DAC required. We’ve seen the junior TDAI-1120 and the bigger, badder TDAI-3400. Now comes a new, more ‘Goldilocks’ TDAI.

The TDAI-2210 promises 105wpc into 8 Ohms (or 210wpc into 4 Ohms) from its digital amplifier circuit with gain applied directly to the output stage by the volume control.

From the press release: “The TDAI-2210 is the newest integrated streaming amplifier by the company. With various digital inputs including USB-C, HDMI 2.1, analogue inputs, optional modular upgrades, an integrated music streaming player”.

I’m writing this from the floor of Munich High-End 2025 and if I recall correctly, that streaming player supports Apple AirPlay 2, Roon Ready, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect and Google Cast. The back panel also shows TOSLINK and coaxial inputs as well as balanced XLR and RCA analogue outputs.

New to Lyngdorf products is the TDAI-2210’s front panel touchscreen that gives us hands-on access to the amplifier’s settings beyond the accompanying app and web interface. And we need that access when using Lyngdorf’s killer feature: RoomPerfect room compensation software that makes lighter work of subwoofer integration, including the subwoofer’s…timing. Experience tells me that RoomPerfect is easier to set up and tweak than Dirac Live.

Back to the press release: “The touchscreen and user interface makes it easier than ever to control a Lyngdorf amplifier. It guides first-time setup, helps to explore all features, allows customization, and makes music streaming more convenient. Lyngdorf engineers took particular care to select the screen: a silky-smooth real glass surface for the best fingertip feel, less visible fingerprints, and a vivid picture.”

The TDAI-2210 is made in Denmark and will sell for £3499, €3999 or US$4499 when it begins shipping in September.

Qobuz Connect? Oui, Monsieur. And Qobuz Connect is coming to the TDAI-3400 this week and the TDAI-1120 later this year.
