dCS announces Lina X streaming DAC

  • dCS has announced the Lina X, a full-width streaming DAC that retains the modularity of the original Lina DAC — and to which the outboard Lina clock and Lina headphone amplifier can still be added.

According to the bare bones press release, the Lina X features the Cambridge company’s Ring DAC and Digital Processing Platform with the Mosaic app (iOS and Android) wrapping Tidal, Deezer and Qobuz. The Lina X also supports Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Roon, Audirvana and JPLAY. Does it do Qobuz Connect? The press release makes no mention of it.

From a wider chassis, the Lina X offers extras: a volume rotary, IR remote control, hi-res streaming from QQ Music and CD/SACD transport connectivity. Digital inputs on the back panel include TOSLINK, coaxial, BNC, 2 x AES/EBU, USB-A, USB-B and Ethernet. Nearby, we note the presence of unbalanced RCA and balanced XLR analogue outputs.

The Lina X begins shipping in June for £13,500 or US$15,500. The Lina will continue to sell for £12,500.
