The NAD Masters M66 was announced here and previewed here. And here is the review. However, kindly note: the M66 isn’t on sale yet. It isn’t quite finished. NAD tells me that its software team is still ironing out some kinks. For example, anyone reviewing the M66 before Christmas would have had no Dirac Live Bass Control — it landed on the M66 via firmware update over the holiday season. Another update coming over the air in January sorted the majority of sample-rate change clicks heard through the loudspeakers and until last week, each analogue input had two variants: DSP and ‘analogue bypass’. However, another firmware update condensed these two variants down to one with ‘analogue direct’ now selectable from within each input’s settings pane. This week’s firmware update put VU meters on the HDMI ARC input. The story continues…
