‘Anyshit goes’. That was the working title of this podcast episode as Michael Lavorgna and I, not having sat down to chew the fat ‘on air’ since August, sifted through possible conversation topics. There had been far too many new product announcements since our last podcast to do them all; my motto in such a case is: “If you can’t do them all, just do one”. Michael and I selected one news item each before discussing his recent dalliance with a mega-money hi-fi system from Credo and EMM Labs and my enthusiasm for hearing Talking Heads in Dolby Atmos / Spatial. This episode’s 🌶 topic is Roon Labs’ decision to make an always-on Internet connection a requirement for local file playback in Roon 2.0 — Michael and I discuss this at length. And as usual, we round out our conversation with a pair of recommended albums.
