AXPONA 2022: Meze Advar

  • Over in the EarGear ballroom, we find Meze Audio showing off a new IEM called Advar. Each earpiece is made from solid stainless steel that’s been injection-moulded, CNC-finished and plated with a high-gloss black chrome finish for an outward appearance that, according to Meze, resembles raw hematite.

Inside each earpiece sits a 10.2mm dynamic driver that Meze asserts delivers a “warm and dynamic” presentation with a manufacturer-rated frequency response of 10Hz – 30kHz. The new IEM model ships with Final Audio’s Type E ear tips and sells for US$700. Available now.

At AXPONA 2022, Meze was offering in-person demonstrations with fresh tips for each listener, surgical wipes aplenty and an Astell&Kern portable audio player (US$2400).

    Total system price: US$3100.
