One final thought: The chaps from Audio Reference GmbH that handled the Vicoustic install brought with them a Velodyne subwoofer. Their plan was to do ‘before’ and ‘after’ low-frequency measurements. Alas, that plan was scuppered by an incomplete bass trap delivery. And with no loudspeaker system setup in my lounge room, higher-frequency ‘before’ readings could not be taken.

However, I did manage an ‘after’ using REW and a UMIK K1 microphone placed at the listening position. The graph below shows that the room’s RT60 reverberation time between 250Hz – 4kHz hovers between 200ms and 300ms. This means the room is not too live and not too dead. It’s just as it should be.
