  • Norwegian hardware manufacturer has announced the availability of a firmware update that adds Tidal Connect functionality to its “range of network audio streamers, speakers, and integrated amplifiers”. Once installed, users can control Tidal playback on their Electrocompaniet device from within Tidal’s own app: iOS, Android, MacOS or Windows.

From the press release: “TIDAL Connect support is available on Electrocompaniet’s line-up of streamers and integrated amplifiers that use its EC Software Engine streaming platform. This also includes selected legacy products in the EC Living Line and Classic Line.”

    They are as follows:

    • Tana SL2
    • ECI 6 DX MKII
    • ECM 1 MKII

    Legacy products:

    • Tana SL1
    • Rena SA1
    • Rena S1
    • ECM 1
    • ECI 6 DX

The final words come from the press release: “With nearly 50 years of experience, Electrocompaniet has over the years created award-winning high-quality audio products, and it has always strived to ensure its customers enjoy listening to their music collections in a variety of different ways. Electrocompaniet was one of the very early adopters of the WIMP steaming service which became TIDAL in 2015, so there is a strong relationship between Electrocompaniet and TIDAL for many years. The addition of TIDAL Connect cements their commitment to continually expand the list of streaming options for their clients.”

Electrocompaniet joins Cambridge Audio, KEF, Bluesound, Lyngdorf, iFi and Volumio as early adopters of the Tidal Connect program.
