Sennheiser’s Momentum True Wireless 2 add ANC

  • Sennheiser has announced the second generation of its true wireless IEM: the Momentum True Wireless 2 still gives us 7mm dynamic drivers, custom EQ via Sennheiser’s Smart Control app, voice activation and AAC/aptX Bluetooth codecs.

However, for the new version, the Germany company has shaved 2mm from each earshell, added active noise cancellation and more than doubled battery life to 7 hours per charge and 28 hours in total via the carry case (but less when ANC is engaged). Sennheiser also says a move to a new Bluetooth receiver chip has sorted the battery drain problem experienced by some users of the Gen 1 model.

And with pricing holding firm at US$299/โ‚ฌ299/ยฃ279, this revised feature set – especially the ANC – puts the Momentum True Wireless 2 right next to the Sony WF-1000XM3 (review here). On sound quality, Apple’s Airpods Pro just aren’t in the running.

Shipping begins on the black Momentum True Wireless 2 in April. A white version will follow ‘later’.
