Do you like headphones? Do you like free stuff? If you find yourself answering in the affirmative to both of these questions then you’re gonna dig this: a chance to win a free pair of OPPO headphones.
“How so, Sir?” you enquire.
The generous folk at Interdyn in Melbourne – Australian distributors for Rotel, Pro-Ject and (most recently) Devialet, Polk and Prima Luna and OPPO – have donated a white pair of the widely revered PM-3 to give away to one lucky reader. As you can see from the photos, this pair are still sealed in factory-applied shrink wrap.

Listening again a few months down the line I’d say the PM-3 are more refined than they are out-and-out exciting, more cultured than in-your-face fun. If an even tonality and rhythmic speed matters more to you than a hefty dynamic thwack upside the head then the OPPOs are one of the go to models at this price level.
Soooooo – how to get your hands on this prize?
This time out we’re asking for a little more than the piss-simple sign up to the DAR newsletter of yore.
We want you to shoot and edit a video to a maximum duration of one minute. “About what?” you ask. It could be about your current pair of headphones, your existing system (head-fi or two channel), a favourite piece of audio gear or something you love to hate. It could even be a plea for the prize itself – your call – as long as the video’s subject matter is in some way audio related.
Production values matter not one bit. Shooting and editing on a phone is perfectly acceptable. Apart from the aforementioned length restriction, we only require that you give a nod to ‘DAR’ and ‘OPPO’ somewhere in the video, either visually OR audibly, and that you keep it PG (with apologies to potty-mouths).
To enter, shoot, edit and upload your video to YouTube – Vimeo rhymes with no for a reason – and then post the link in the comments section below before the calendar ticks over into October 8th. Mention of DAR and OPPO should also appear in the video title.
Please ensure to use a working email address (which is not published) when submitting your comment and that you currently reside in one of these countries: Australia, New Zealand, USA, Canada, UK, France, Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Hong Kong or Japan.
The winner will be selected by yours truly with some help from Interdyn. The usual disclaimers about judges decisions being final apply.
